About Oregon Mushrooms
Oregon Mushrooms has been sharing our passion for mushrooms with others via the Internet since our first eBay sale back in 1999. We started out smaller with a focus on high quality dried morel mushrooms but soon customers began asking after the availability of other types of mushrooms. As a result of this kind of demand, we’ve since expanded our high-quality inventory to offer a variety of dried and fresh seasonal and cultivated mushrooms as well as unique mushroom-related specialty and gift items, such as black truffle oil and white truffle oil and truffle butter and truffle sea salt. All of our products are GMO Free! We do not believe in selling anything that is genetically modified.View Store
Fresh Wild Sea Beans (1lb)
Availability: In stock
Price is per1 lb.
IN SEASON NOW! A fresh bean that grows in the sea in the form of a long, thin, cylindrical green stem that may have spherical-shaped, spike-like buds on the ends. Some varieties appear to look like a Chinese long bean while others may look similar to coral. The crisp textured bean stems and leaves can be eaten raw, steamed, boiled, sautéed, or stir-fried to add a unique presentation for fish and seafood dishes. They are often served fresh in salads or can be boiled and served with melted butter for dipping. Pickled sea beans are also available at some specialty markets. Because of their sea-based rearing, they may taste salty or at times, somewhat fishy. To remove the salty flavor, soak the beans in fresh water for 8 to 12 hours and then discard the water before preparing. Also known as glasswort, pickle-plant, pousse-pied, salicornia tips, samphire, and sea asparagus.
