Foraged Refund/Return Policy

Buyers: Returns & Refunds

Can I return or exchange my purchase?

Each seller can set their own return policies, which should be outlined in their Seller Policies at checkout. Not all sellers accept returns. If you have any questions about a product you received, please contact the seller directly via their shop’s message button, or contact us here.

My order was damaged. What should I do?

Oh no! Some factors like shipping and handling are outside of our control and issues like this can happen. Please contact us with a detailed description of your issue and we will work with you and the seller to coordinate refund/replacement of the item(s), if applicable.

You may be eligible for a refund/replacement in the event of any of the following:

Non-Delivery

A non-delivery occurs when a buyer places an order but does not receive the item. The following are examples of non-delivery cases:

  1. There is no proof that the item was shipped to the buyer.
  2. An item was not sent to the address provided on Foraged.

Not as Described

An item is not as described if the buyer can demonstrate that it is significantly different from the seller’s listing description or photos. Here are a few examples of not as described cases:

  1. The item received is a different color, type, size, or amount.
  2. The seller failed to disclose that an item is damaged.
  3. The buyer received the incorrect quantity of items (e.g., the buyer purchased three items but only received two, or two pounds of product but only received one).
  4. The item was advertised as authentic but is not authentic.
  5. The condition of the item is misrepresented (e.g., the item is described as fresh but is dried).

Not as described cases can also be filed for late delivery. In order to qualify as late delivery, the buyer must provide proof that all of these conditions have been met:

  1. The item(s) were ordered for a specific date or event.
  2. The item(s) are rendered useless after that date.
  3. The seller did not ship the item(s) according to a date specifically agreed upon with the buyer at the time of order.

If Foraged determines that an item is not as described, the seller will be required to refund the order, including original shipping and return shipping. In the event that Foraged needs to refund the return shipping cost on behalf of the seller, that refund may come in the form of a Foraged Credit.

Ineligible Transactions

Some disputes don’t qualify for Foraged returns/refunds. These include:

  1. Items that are damaged by shipping carrier (if properly packaged by the seller).
  2. Reimbursements for transactions encouraging or acting upon businesses outside of the Foraged platform (including reimbursement of the initial sale on the platform).
  3. Items that have been altered, used, washed, or discarded after receipt.
  4. Items that are received after the agreed-upon delivery date due to shipping delays.
  5. Items that are returned without a return agreement.
  6. Items that are accurately described but don’t meet a buyer’s expectations.
  7. Cost of shipping disputes.
  8. Items that are purchased in person.
  9. Items prohibited from sale on Foraged, including services and intangible goods.
  10. Cases where the buyer no longer wants the item(s), for any reason beyond the eligible cases outline above.
  11. Transactions where payment is not made via Foraged’s checkout system.

You may be eligible for a refund/replacement in the event of any of the following:

Only sellers may cancel transactions. Buyers may request that a seller cancel an order. Foraged cannot cancel or refund a transaction on behalf of a seller.

Returning an Item

Each seller can set his or her own return policies, which should be outlined in their Seller Policies. Not all sellers accept returns. If a seller has not provided a specific policy, the default policy is no returns.

Sellers: Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

Foraged is a venue made up of independent sellers who sell their own items through the Foraged marketplace. This means that each seller has the option to set their own policies regarding refunds, exchanges, and returns (see below). Individual policies will vary from seller to seller. If a seller prefers not to set their own policy, the Foraged return/refund/exchange policy will apply to any sales made through the site.

As a seller on Foraged, you have the option to select your policies regarding returns and refunds in your Seller Policies. This includes:

  • Whether or not you accept returns
  • The time frame in which you may accept a return
  • Who will pay for the cost of return shipping for any items that are sent back to you

If you enter into a return agreement with a buyer, we require you to fulfill that agreement. This may include:

  • Issuing a refund for the returned item(s)
  • Providing Foraged with proof of shipping for a replacement item

If you do have a problem with a transaction, it’s best to contact the buyer directly. Buyers are also encouraged to contact you if they experience any issues.
